History in 5G...

When the 5G students were asked to observe the landscape of the Swan River in Perth's CBD from the top of Kings Park, they had an additional task of considering what it would have looked like before colonisation.

A piece of art by Christopher Pease helped us visualise this which you can view here.

The students then used Paint to digitally recreate the landscape before the European settlers came to the Fremantle harbour.

These videos are the iBook creations made by 5G in Term 2, 2014 using the Book Creator App. This History project spanned five weeks and the students had a particular focus for each week e.g. use www.postermywall.com to create a biography of an Australian explorer and integrate that image into their iBook. The images were sourced, edited or made by the students and they narrated both their Gold Rush podcast and their Aboriginal perspectives iMovie. Their posters are on display in our classroom and these YouTube videos can be maximised by clicking on the four corner icon, bottom right. Enjoy!

Thank you and well done to all 5G students for their History Colonisation iBooks. You worked very hard and should be proud of your efforts. Congratulations!
