In 2014 the Yr 5's at OLA are the first Year Level to use ipads 1:1 with students. This page is designed to assist the parents and students in Yr 5 in understanding which apps we will be using and why. All apps that appear below have been assessed according to OLA's evaluative rubric designed specifically with educational outcomes in mind. These particular apps were chosen for their educational value and potential for creative and collaborative learning.

Popplet - $5.49 Full version allows multiple popplet boards, brainstorming app	Book Creator - Free Easy book creation app able to be published in the iBooks .epub format	Spelling City - Free Students can enter their own lists or access teacher prescribed lists. Games and practice tests are available.
Mathletics - Free Student app connected to individual Mathletics account. Teacher prescribed content within National Australian Mathematics Curriculum.	Chirp - Free Ability to share content from device to device via a sound code that is "heard" and immediately accessed. Great for getting a website to all devices quickly.	i-nigma - Free This is the most reliable and easy to use QR code reader app I've found. Students scan codes to access web content.
