My news and events...

I have been lucky enough to be invited to present at a couple of Teach Meet Western Australia #tmwa sessions where I speak about the ICT's and EdTech I use.

Thanks to Bhavneet Singh, Jenny Jongste, Louise Cimetta and Gabrielle Trinca for all their support, enthusiasm and encouragement.

TeachMeetWA #tmwa

Teach Meet is free PD by teachers, for teachers in short 2-7minute presentations designed to make you want more of what you've heard. Please check out the TMWA page for more info.

Jemima's News...

As part of the process being chosen as a CEOWA Exemplary Educator in ICT, I was pleased and excited to be co-delivering a day's professional development to some teachers from a variety of schools in the Peel Region with the awesome and amazing Mr Ryan Von Bergheim in late July.

We busily prepared and delivered our collaborative presentation designed to fit the brief;

"Ipads in the clasroom, going beyond the basics".

We spoke about the SAMR model, embedding technology in the curriculum, specifically the ICT General Capability and were able to demonstrate some workflows from his Yr 3 class and my Yr 5 class.

2014 Curriculum Conference

On the 1st and 2nd of September 2014, Catholic schools across WA are meeting at the Perth Convention Centre where a variety of speakers will be able to share, reflect and discuss best learning practice. As part of the LEAD (Learning, Engagement, Accountability and Discipleship) initiative it is my pleasure and honour to be one of those speakers. My session will be on the first day at 2pm entitled;

'Digitising Learning: Real Classroom Applications'

I look forward to sharing my experience and technology integration ideas with some inspiring and dedicated WA teachers.

Teachers in the PEEL region (Mandurah) discussing the potential use of using iPads in Yr 3-6 classrooms.

My new role!

I am incredibly excited to announce that I will be joining the Catholic Education Office of WA in September 2014 as a Digital Learning Consultant. I can't wait to be able to see how I can share my expertise from a classroom and school level into system level.

I will miss being in a classroom but cannot wait for this next step in my career to begin.

My BIG announcement...

It's with sheer joy that I can inform you all that my husband and I are going to have a baby in late September 2015.

While I will be obviously taking leave from work for awhile to absorb all there is to learn about her, I will still be maintaining the website (and probably very late at night at that!)

Wish us luck!

Jemima's Events...

2015 has been a very focused and busy year for me. While little has changed on the website (sorry!)  I can proudly say that it has been due to my other commitments that I can share with you here.

I have graduated from my Masters of Education at Edith Cowan University, become a Google Certified Educator and an Apple Distinguished Educator.

I head off to the ADE 2015 Asia Pacific Institute in early August and will have LOTS to share through this journey.

Get educated.

As part of my role as Digital Learning consultant for CEWA, it has been my pleasure to assist in the organisation of two GAFE conferences for Catholic Education staff in WA.

The first was held in March and the second in June. You can find conversations and key learning from those days via Twitter by clicking this hashtag: #gafewa15

Some fabulous professional development was had by many.

Special thanks to Chris Betcher and Andrew Churches for their respective keynotes.
